Los Angeles, California. In the same venue that the Los Angeles Lakers celebrated their 2009 NBA Championship Victory, The Staples Center, the World held a memorial for The King of Pop Culture, Micheal Joesph Jackson.

As the Ceremony begins, a 24 karat gold casket was placed in front of the stage for all to see & would serve as Micheal’s last stage performance. The Queen “Latifah” graced the crowd with a poem from the great laureate Maya Angelou, Mariah Carey & Her Background Singer Trey Lorenz delivered a jolting rendition of  ”I’ll be There” &  a host of other performers paid there respects musically including Lionel Ritchie, Usher,Jenifer Hudson, & Shaheen Jafargholi.

BUT

The Words that  Spoke more in Volume than the Performances.

Barry Gordy: ““He raised the bar, then broke the bar. I think he’s simply the greatest entertainer that ever lived !

Rev.Al Sharpton:  to Micheal’s Children “The ways nothing STRANGE about your daddy, It was just STRANGE what YOUR DADDY had to deal with“

The Single Most Compelling, Hearth wrenching moment came when Micheals young Daughter, Paris Katherine Jackson stated “Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine.  And I just wanted to say that I love him, So much”  , as she turns and sobs into her aunt, Janet Jackson’s Arms.

THe Jamie Foxx Show AKA The BET Awards

Ummmm…Lets First Deal With the Word “Anticipation”.  Leading up to this Award Show there was Worldwide Excitement that could be felt throughout both Entertainers & Socialites Alike.  This Presentation of  Accolade to Driving Forces of Music would not only be highlighted by a bevy of new talent but also hoards of entertainers Eager to pay respect to the Greatest Entertainer that Ever live..Micheal Jackson.

BET enlist Jamie Foxx to host the award show. BRAVO! This has no chance of not atleast being comical during some points in the show.

Notable Performers Jay-z, Beyonce & even a rumored Whitney Houston Comeback Performance further boost the Shows expected Glory.

New Fresh Talent Drake is set to release his much anticipated First Video & perform @ the First Award Show of his Bright Career.

Showtime……We switch the operating word in the sentence “Anticipation” to “Disappointment”.

Reasons? There are Several but I will Just Highlight 4 maybe 5..Depending on the urgency of the vomit that will surely arise from my system.

As a Mass Communication Grad, I know how difficult a task it is to control the audio during a live broadcast. This is why PROFESSIONALS with experience are required for stellar events such as this….Clearly they settled for the 10th best.Not Only did the sound man give free reign to the obscenity’s of the rappers and Ving Rhames but he also missed several cues and the Group performances were almost inaudible. Shaking my God *Bleep* Head. Thank God there were no Memorable Performances besides Jay-z Announcing the Death of the Autotune

Really BET? I mean Seriously…. your not going to provide financial workshops at your BET college tours but you will Empower the black community by pushing a show that is about as “Bankable” as hitting the Lottery? These commercials offered false hope not only to the millions of people in Debt but to the Set of New Programming that this network has put together.  Look forward to The “Frankie & Neffie Show” ( a spinoff of Keysha Coles “The Way it is”) which is sure to showcase positve aspects of the Black Community

That may get a slight pass as the Jackson family has been in the entertainment business for years…but to Plug your new record label” Ranch Records” was just uncalled for JOE!

He is young, very talent performer, who as of recently had his public image tarnished by the news media .Negative Aspects of the Media that Micheal knew all too well. Breezy was rumored to have been SHUTDOWN by HOVA (Jay-z) who probably was in his feelings for his babygirl (Rihanna).

I  was walking into the 2009 NBA Draft. As my blackberry vibrated, I           pondered not answering, due to the fact that I was taking in a memorable moment. As I looked down @ the Phones screen, I realized it was a text from my Maternal and proceeded to open the message. The message read….

” THE KING of POP is DEAD “

Speechless.

I knew exactly WHO she was speaking of. As I look up from the phone, I  saw the news feed streaming on one of the Televisions in Madison Square Garden, further confirming.

The Barriers that MJ broke down are unparalleled. There has yet to be another artist that commanded such a presence. Not only on stage, Micheal may have been the worlds First MEGASTAR. Respect to Elvis, The Beatles, etc but this man in Singularity graced a Global span of Influence through his Art.

Micheal Jackson, You will TRULY be missed
